Create

So I am only a little bit behind, but no surprise there. I have "played" with several of the tools that were options for challenge 3, but I realized that I had never actually created anything using them. I often assign my student assistants the task of figuring them out. I will post some additional projects that they have created using some cool tools, but for now, here is my Animoto video. This also made me realize I don't take enough pictures for Battle of the Books...

Challenge 2 part 2

I guess I should have read through all of the challenge before I posted.  I explored several other participant's blogs and commented on a couple.  One of my comments can be found at http://hookedontechnology-jennifer.blogspot.com/2011/08/smartboards-ipads-and-google-apps.html#comments.  As far as my selection of blogs I subscribed to, Doug Johnson and Joyce Valenza are the library/tech gurus in my book.  As I said previously, now I just have to remember to log on and read.

I have a Twitter account.  I can't remember why I signed up, but I think it was some sort of contest.  Apparently I didn't win.  I guess I might understand twitter better if I had a smart phone.  Instead, I have a dumb phone and it is just as easy for me to log on to Facebook and tell people what I am doing as it is to log on to Twitter to do the same.  Of course, who really cares what I am doing????

Google Reader

So I am finally getting around to the second challenge.  I am determined to finish on time, so I thought this would be a good way to deal with my insomnia.  I subscribed to a few blogs (Doug Johnson, Joyce Valenza, and of course the DPS Technology Challenge), but I know my problem will be remembering to sign in to my Google account and actually read the blogs that I've subscribed to.  So much to do, so little time...

The Challenge is On!

Greetings!  If you are reading this, either you, too, are participating in the DPS Summer Technology Challenge or you just happened upon it.  If the former, congrats--this will be a great journey together!  If the latter, my sympathies are extended to you.  I wish I could say I have some wise knowledge to impart or some wit and humor to share, but neither is the case.  In fact, I may not be a very good writer at all.  However, I do hope this will be the start of my blogging career.  Once I figure out just what I will use this for (hopefully something more than just my ramblings of nonsense and stream of consciousness), perhaps I can think of a catchy title.  But that is to be determined...
